How to Measure Road With Theodolite

How to Measure Road With Theodolite
How to Measure Road With Theodolite, before discussing about how to use theodolit, we should first clarify that would be measured? Horizontal distance? Different elevation? Vertical angle / tilt? Or horizontal angle to a point / north? Theodolite has many purpose.Usually, the measurement of a path, which is measured elevation difference, vertical angle and horizontal angle, masing2 has a purpose.

                                               MEASURING DIFFERENT ELEVATION
To measure the different elevations, the surface height measuring theodolite, theodolite tidal vertical angle of 0 degrees, then shoot the target rod. Different elevation was seen in the number of high net rod targets theodolite.

                                                   ANGLE MEASURING VERTICAL
To measure the vertical angle, height measuring theodolite to the surface, and shoot targets with a high rod according theodolite, and do not lock theodolite vertical corner. Read the vertical angle.

                                              DISTANCE MEASURING HORIZONTAL
To measure horizontal distances, no need to measure the height of theodolite. Ensure zero degree angle and lock theodolite vertical corner. Aim the target rod and read the numbers listed on the target rod seen in the upper and lower limits of the readings. Horizontal distance is the upper limit minus lower limit multiplied by 100.

ANGLE MEASURING HORIZONTAL DIRECTION OF NORTH
To measure the horizontal angle to north, looking towards the north and make zero degree angle with a theodolite horizontal rotating angle regulator. Then lock the key and turn the theodolite horizontal angle towards the target rod. Then read the horizontal angle. The angle is read at the bottom is a positive angle, the upper part is a negative angle.

MEASURING AN ANGLE POINT OF HORIZONTAL
If you want to measure the horizontal angle to a point, the same way by measuring the horizontal angle towards the north. It's just used as a zero point.
